DODUCO sales partner
Dr. Eugen Dürrwächter founds DODUCO as a small refinery for recovery of gold, silver and platinum in Pforzheim. The main customer is the domestic jewellery industry.
The young company supplies the first gold-color-baths for electroplating to the regional jewellery industry. Electroplating technology becomes another mainstay.
Dr. Dürrwächter recognizes the demand of emerging electrical industry for precious metals and their alloys for the production of electrical contacts. Contact manufacturing contributes significantly to the rapid growth of the company.
Because of manpower shortage, Dr. Dürrwächter decides to build up a new plant in Sinsheim, 50 km in the north of Pforzheim. With about 700 employees, the new plant develops promptly to one of the biggest industrial companies in the region.
Pforzheim is completely destroyed on February 23rd. The DODUCO factory buildings are also affected. Immediately after the end of the war, the reconstruction of the production facilities begins.
The newly founded research and development department subsequently produces numerous patents and utility models in Germany and abroad. The specialist knowledge is published in technical-scientific documentation, books and brochures. The establishment of the „technical customer advisory service“ and the partnership in practical problem solutions extends and deepens customer loyalty. This makes DODUCO a reliable partner and problem solver from an early stage.
DODUCO makes a breakthrough in precious metal electroplating with electroplating expansion.
The group of companies of the Princely House of Thurn & Taxis acquires a majority stake in DODUCO.
1975 – 1981
The spacious new building in the Pforzheim-Altgefäll industrial estate is taken over. It is still the headquarter of the company today.
The American financial investor, Technitrol takes over DODUCO and combines it with Advanced Metallurgy Inc. (AMI) to AMI DODUCO. The use of various synergies makes the company one of the world‘s leading contact manufacturers.
In 1999 DODUCO took over the majority of the Chinese company Tianjin Electrical Metal Works. In 2013 a new production plant was built in the Wuqing Development Zone of Tianjin.
The group of investors, Tinicum and JP Asia become new owners and drive business expansion in Europe and Asia. The company again operates under the traditional name of DODUCO, which stands for quality, service and innovation worldwide.
Splitting of the previous DODUCO GmbH into two operating companies: DODUCO Contacts and Refining GmbH as well as DODUCO Solutions GmbH. Today, both companies operate under the umbrella of DODUCO Holding GmbH.
In the course of the strategic realignment of his business divisions, DODUCO establishes a new plant in Sibiu, Romania.
